Q & A with Tyler Long

What does it mean to you to be part of TRELORA?

It's fascinating being a part of a company disrupting an entire industry. Every day I am surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do, and I am thankful to be part of this team.

What do you like about working at TRELORA?

I work with an incredibly talented and intelligent group of developers, and I love learning from them and contributing to the product that is TRELORA every day.

How do you try to leave people better?

By following the golden rule: Treat others how you want to be treated.

Name 3 of your core values.

  • Innovation

  • Open mindedness

  • Attention to detail

Tell us about a work-related challenge you have overcome.

At TRELORA, the tech team is using some technologies I had used previously, but never on the scale we are using them here. It has been both challenging and fun to dive into these new technologies and use them for innovative TRELORA applications.

Read any good books lately?

  • I am a voracious reader, avid film fan and a collector of vinyl. A recent book, film and record: Book. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
  • Film.  “Jackie.” I saw this at the Denver Film Festival and loved the acting performances, cinematography, and soundtrack.
  • Vinyl. Kikagaku Moyo, House in the Tall Grass. I saw this band at the Hi Dive, and it was one of the best shows of 2016.

Pets? Family? Hobbies?

I love to snowboard and try to get up every weekend. I am a Colorado native, and a big fan of all the classic outdoor activities and spending as much time as possible in the mountains: Hiking, camping, bike riding, white water rafting, fly fishing, concerts at Red Rocks... Traveling is a passion of mine as well. I have been to many different countries and love experiencing different cultures, foods, etc. I am always planning my next trip.

Next time you save $12k (or more) on your personal real estate transaction, how will you spend your dough?

A vacation! That might mean a beach, a new city, or a rural backpacking trip. I would definitely spend the cash on a trip, maybe a ski trip to Japan.
